Rising British design star Max Lamb’s Crockery collection, developed with UK ceramics company 1882 Ltd, is the result of lumps of plaster being refashioned with stone masonry tools. ¬†The collection of bowl, cup and jug – aptly entitled ‘Crockery’ will be showcased in the forthcoming London Design Festival in September.
The process involves Lamb hand carving models to develop moulds that are then ready for slip-casting, creating the final bone china pieces. While the outsides are left rough and ready, the insides are glazed for functionality.
