London-based design studio Poetic lab created a pop-up shop during Milan Design Week at design junction showcasing desktop objects.
Forming part of the BEYOND OBJECT collection that debuted at Maison et Objet in January the metallic themed pieces include a tape dispenser, letter opener, pencil sharpener and pen pot.
Embracing simple geometry and harnessing on-trend materials silver, gold, brass and copper, the mirror-polished collection celebrates minimalism and architecture forms, most notable in the PENPO desktop organiser where a trio of cylindrical vessels that can be arranged as the user desires.
“ We are trying to define spaces within a space with tubes. It is a bit like playing with building blocks, you have the joy to construct your own small houses on your desktop”
We first came across Poetic Lab at emerging designer pavilion Salone Satellite at the 2013 edition of the Milan Fair – their design ethos founded on exploring light and shade, exquisitely expressed in RIPPLE LIGHT – the video link below worth exploring.
