Perched on a wooded hillside near Guatemala City, Casa Corallo by Paz Arquitectura fuses the surrounding landscape with the modernist architecture of this spectacular residence.
As reported by ArchDaily, the design process was driven by the aim of preserving the existing trees, and that they interact with the internal living spaces. The column free floor plan, along with changes in level of interior volumes, allow the building envelope to integrate almost seemlessly with the existing topography.
The considered use of glass on external façades connect with both the interior and exterior architecture with the surrounding nature, aided by exposed concrete and the rustic textures of wood formwork.
