Studio Toogood¬†opened the doors of their canal-side North London studio for the installation ‚ÄòThe Back Room’ during this month’s London Design Festival.
Typically Toogood, the installation goes against the norms in the way they expose the beauty of austere utilitarian design, in a true celebration of the post-industrial era, that upholds the rebirth of craftsmanship and creativity from individuals and small collectives alike.
To coincide with ‘The Back Room’ installation Faye Toogood released her latest furniture collection ‘BATCH’ (previously a limited edition collection showcased in Milan last April), in a bid to industrialise the beauty of craftsmanship and utilitarian design.
The experience was completed by The M25 Luncheon by Italian creative food collective ¬†Arabeschi di Latte¬†who presented a inventive take on the traditional British Ploughman’s lunch, with ingredients gathered within the M25. Guests were treated to food design pared especially with The Back Room installation, gazing through studio windows and across the sunshine to the canal.
