Performance artist Liam Benson documents his work through photography & video, his practice as study of social perceptions of gender, race, culture, sexuality and identity by cross-referencing art, popular culture and media language.

Benson was last week announced as the recipient of the $10,00 2012 Hawkesbury Art Prize, that follows 2011 accolades that include the 2011 Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award (judged by Ben Quilty), and the Contemporary Award category of the Fishers Ghost Art Award (judged by MCA curator Glenn Barkley).
