Tramshed, the newest incarnation by London food maven Mark Hix is the ultimate fusion of food, art and design!
The 1905 building, originally an electricity generating space for trams, retains the industrial roots of the cavernous internal space, with the central dining area dominated by Damien Hirst’s ‘Cock n Bull’ that leaves little doubt about the tone of the menu! ¬†

Since opening four months ago, Tramshed has swiftly anchored itself as an East London / Shoredeitch must-see destination.

Complimented by private dining rooms and a basement gallery, each space remains multifunctional, and this week will host London Design Festival events. Moving past entrance tables showcasing a superbly curated selection of design tomes, it’s clear¬†Hix upholds the best of contemporary art and design within every part of the space.

Similarly, the Cock n Bull Gallery functions as a multi-disciplinary space, intelligently complimented by a DIY library with an extensive collection of art catalogues, reference materials and monographs, all freely on offer for guests to enjoy and self educate.
When the restaurant opened in July¬†The Guardian newspaper review opened with “Mark Hix has opened seven successful restaurants in four years at the height of a recession. But has he bitten off more than he can chew with a roast chicken and steak joint in the East End?”
The answer is simple. when honest food and accessible originality meet, it works!
